My philosophy on training can be best
described as "old school". I prefer to use basic weight training exercises and
a straight-forward workout design. In my years as a personal trainer, I find
that most people come to the gym because they want to look better. Most of my
clients are interested in losing bodyfat and gaining muscle (to some degree).
Basic weight training is the fastest way to build muscle and strength. Building
muscle increases your metabolism which causes your body to burn more calories at
rest. Increased metabolic rate (from more muscle) makes it easier to
lose/manage bodyfat. For people whose primary concern is losing bodyfat, I add
cardiovascular exercise and diet to the mix for fastest results.
Having a great body is not easy. There are
numerous fad exercise programs, gadgets, books, diets, etc that make outlandish
claims but can't deliver real results. Here is the truth….losing bodyfat
safely, and building muscle and strength is hard work, takes dedication and
consistency, and it takes a long time. Many people (writers, "trainers") make
it much more complicated than it needs to be. I can put you on an effective,
efficient program that is appropriate for your needs, experience and fitness
level. Combined with dedication and consistency on your part, you will be able
to reach your fitness goals.
